Brock Gjesdal is a first year Medical Student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience concentrated in electrophysiology, and a B.S. in Biochemistry from University of Washington in June 2022. At the University of Washington, Brock pursued his interest in the molecular activity of neurons and their glial support cells working with John Neumaier to study microglial motility in alcohol withdrawal. Brock wants to pursue a career as a physician investigator, and is interested in the intersection of surgical decision making and real time bio informatics analysis achievable by artificial intelligence.
