3D reconstruction of Transcranial Doppler scans for enhanced vasospasm detection and blood flow measurement
Full Description
Current gold standards of detecting cerebral vasospasm, including angiography and CT imaging, are time consuming. Transcranial Doppler has been employed as a quicker alternative. However, it is markedly less accurate. We employ reconstructive techniques to piece together Transcranial Doppler scans of the middle cerebral artery into a 3D vascular model, with the goal of better visualizing vasospasm and measuring blood flow parameters. In the future, we hope to expand this work to other vasculature and generate live models for faster diagnosis.
